TRADE PROGRAM
Introducing the TRADE Program at Burns High School
We are excited to launch a new initiative at Burns High School called the TRADE Program (Teaching Real-life Applications & Developing Experiences) beginning in September 2025.
This program will give a select group of high school students the opportunity to learn directly from local tradesmen and business professionals. Each Monday, students will rotate through hands-on learning experiences led by professionals in various trades, including plumbing, HVAC, general contracting, and automotive repair.
The goal is to expose students to a wide range of skilled trades and give them practical, real-world experience that can help them make informed decisions about their futures after high school.

To make this program successful, we need help from our community. We are currently seeking donations of tools, equipment, and materials that can be used for demonstrations and student activities. These supplies will be essential to helping students engage in meaningful, hands-on learning.
ITEMS WE ARE CURENTLY LOOKING FOR:
-
Hand tools and power tools
-
Demonstration models (e.g., breaker boxes, sinks, HVAC components)
-
Safety equipment (goggles, gloves, etc.)
-
Workshop supplies (wood, pipes, wiring, fittings, etc.)
-
Any materials that could support vocational learning
Confirmed participating businesses include:
-
Coleman Plumbing
-
Anderson Performance Heat and Air (HVAC)
-
Cove Points General Contracting
-
John Chapdelaine Mobile Mechanic
-
We are also working to confirm an electrician
If you are interested in donating materials or getting involved in the program, please contact Mr. Carignan at CarignanT@burnsscitech.org.
Thank you for supporting our students and helping us build a program that prepares them for real-world success!
