EAGLE ACTIVITIES

Extracurricular activities at Burns Sci Tech play a vital role in nurturing well-rounded individuals. From elementary school to high school, these activities promote learning, creativity, and social responsibility. Our activities offer early exposure to STEM, arts, and sports, and in high school, they prepare students for future academic and career success. These activities are essential to fostering holistic education, equipping students with life skills and passions for lifelong success.

Within this vibrant community, members engage in a wide array of video game tournaments, ranging from popular titles like League of Legends and Fortnite to niche favorites like Super Smash Bros and Rocket League. Beyond the thrill of competition, the club provides a platform for players to hone their skills, strategize with teammates, and forge lasting friendships in the virtual realm. Through regular practice sessions, scrimmages, and coaching opportunities, members refine their gameplay techniques and develop a deeper understanding of the esports ecosystem. This year we are excited to bring Fellowship of Christian Athletes to the students here at Burns Sci Tech!  Students are welcome to attend our bi-monthly huddles where they hear encouraging words based on God's word and His promises, eat pizza, and fellowship with other Christians. FCA's goal is to Engage, Equip, and Empower coaches and athletes to grow in Christ and lead others to do the same. It is open to any 7th-12th grade students who wish to come. They do not need to be a Christian or an athlete. We meet twice a month, once for each middle and high school lunch period. We are grateful for our student officers who help plan and organize our huddles, and for Brian Melanson and Pastor Joel Kolbosh who deliver messages from God's Word to the students.

Tailored for students who have already gained foundational knowledge in playing string instruments, this ensemble offers an enriching musical experience that fosters teamwork, discipline, and artistic expression. Members of the Intermediate Orchestra Club explore a diverse repertoire, honing their technique and musicality through rehearsals and performances. Students develop confidence and a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of ensemble playing, laying the groundwork for their continued growth as musicians.

Key Club is a vibrant service organization that empowers high school students to make a positive impact in their communities through volunteerism and leadership development. Through these activities, members not only give back to their communities but also cultivate important skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Key Club provides a supportive and inclusive environment where students can connect with like-minded peers, collaborate on meaningful projects, and develop a lifelong commitment to serving others.

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the voice of the student body, representing their interests and concerns within the school community. Comprised of elected student leaders, the SGA works collaboratively with faculty and administration to address issues, plan events, and implement positive changes on campus. Through various initiatives such as organizing school spirit activities, fundraising for charitable causes, and advocating for student needs, the SGA fosters a sense of unity, pride, and engagement among students. ​The National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious organization in the United States, dedicated to recognizing high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Founded in 1921, NHS chapters are present in schools across the country, fostering a commitment to academic achievement and community engagement among its members. Inductees are selected based on their academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, service to their community, and demonstration of integrity and leadership qualities. Being a member of NHS not only acknowledges a student’s accomplishments but also encourages them to continue making positive contributions to their school and community.

Are you ready to perfect your golf swing while enjoying some after-school fun? Join Mr. Samson and Mr. McDonald every Tuesday and Thursday for an exciting opportunity to develop your skills on the green!

For just $50, participants will have access to top-notch golf clubs and practice balls generously provided by the school. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or just starting out, this clinic is open to all skill levels.

But that's not all! Mr. Samson and Mr. McDonald have big plans in mind. They hope to assemble a Burns golf team this fall, and this clinic is the perfect chance for you to get a taste of what it's all about.

As an added bonus, at the end of the clinic, there's a possibility that Mr. Samson and Mr. McDonald may take some participants out for an actual round of golf after school. It's an opportunity you won't want to miss!

So swing by and see if golf is your game. We can't wait to see you on the green!
