Burns Science and Technology Charter School is proud to celebrate our 15th academic year with a remarkable distinction: 10 consecutive years as an A-rated school.

Our story began in Oak Hill, when a small neighborhood elementary school was set to close. Determined to keep education alive in our community, families, teachers, and local leaders came together to open Burns Sci-Tech. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a thriving K–12 institution serving more than 1,100 students across Volusia and northern Brevard counties.

From elementary through junior high and into high school, what makes us unique is our commitment to EiSTEAM education: entrepreneurship, innovation, science, technology, engineering, arts, and math taught through hands-on, project-based learning. This approach prepares students of every age to think critically, collaborate effectively, and solve problems creatively.

As a public charter school in Florida, Burns Sci-Tech receives about 30 percent less funding than traditional public schools. We rely on fundraising and community partnerships, just as we did in our earliest days, to bridge this gap and provide students with the best opportunities possible.

That is why our signature fundraiser, the Wrangler’s Ball, is so important. More than a community celebration, this event raises essential funds that benefit students at every grade level. Last year’s Wrangler’s Ball supported new resources across our campus, including a Literacy Lab that inspires a love of reading in elementary and junior high students, and a STEM Resource Center that gives all ages the tools to explore innovation. This year, the funds we raise will continue to strengthen these programs while also expanding opportunities in our high school TRADE program, which prepares students pursuing technical and vocational careers.

Every contribution makes a lasting impact. Together, we are continuing the legacy of a school that was built—and is sustained—by its community.
