Students in Ms. Ferris’s RTI class recently hosted their 3rd Annual Living Wax Museum, and it was an incredible experience for everyone who attended. The project gave students the opportunity to dive into history in a creative and engaging way.
Each student selected a historical or influential figure—either from the past or present—and spent time reading and learning about that person’s life, achievements, and impact on the world. After researching their chosen figure, students prepared short presentations and then transformed themselves into their characters for the big event.
On the day of the Living Wax Museum, students dressed as their historical figures and stood as “wax statues” throughout the room. In front of each statue was a button visitors could press. Once the button was pressed, the statue would suddenly “come to life,” introducing themselves and sharing interesting facts about who they were and what they accomplished.

Visitors were able to meet a wide variety of well-known figures. Some of the “wax figures” included Albert Einstein, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Benjamin Franklin, Queen Elizabeth II, and many other notable characters from history.
As different classes and parents walked through the museum pressing buttons, history came to life in a fun and entertaining way. The students did an amazing job portraying their chosen figures and sharing what they had learned.
The Living Wax Museum not only allowed students to build research and presentation skills, but it also helped them develop confidence while sharing their knowledge with an audience. It was wonderful to see history presented in such an interactive and memorable way.
A big thank you to Ms. Ferris for organizing this creative learning experience and to the students for bringing history to life!
