Summer Soccer Camp Brings Skill, Competition, and Fun to Burn Sci Tech!

Last week, Burn Sci Tech welcomed more than 20 campers for an exciting 3rd-6th Grade Indoor Soccer Camp, where students spent three action-packed days learning the game, building friendships, and growing as athletes under the leadership of Coach G.

Each morning began with outdoor training sessions focused on developing fundamental soccer skills. Coach G guided campers through drills designed to improve dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control, and footwork while teaching the importance of teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. Whether students were experienced players or trying soccer for the first time, every camper was encouraged to challenge themselves and celebrate their progress.

One of the greatest highlights of the week was watching new friendships develop. Campers encouraged one another during drills, celebrated great plays, and worked together throughout every activity. By the end of camp, many students had not only improved their soccer abilities but had also formed new friendships with classmates and fellow athletes.

The excitement reached its peak on the final day as campers completed one last morning of training before competing in an Indoor Soccer Tournament inside the Burn Sci Tech gym. The tournament gave students the opportunity to showcase everything they had learned throughout the week in a fun and competitive environment. Every team demonstrated determination, teamwork, and excellent sportsmanship from start to finish.

The tournament champions were recognized with an official USA National Team soccer jersey, while each member of the championship team also received a miniature FIFA World Cup trophy to celebrate their accomplishment.

After the tournament, campers headed outside to enjoy exciting water activities including a water slide, giving everyone a chance to cool off, relax, and celebrate an incredible week together. The afternoon continued with pizza and a refreshing treat from Kona Ice before everyone gathered inside the gym to watch the FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals on the big screen. It was the perfect ending to a week centered around learning, competition, friendship, and a shared love of the game.

A special thank you goes to Coach G for his outstanding leadership and dedication to our campers. Through his encouragement and passion for the game, every participant had the opportunity to develop new skills, build confidence, and experience the importance of teamwork. We would also like to thank the parents, volunteers, and staff who generously gave their time to assist throughout the week. From setting up activities to supporting campers and helping wherever needed, your willingness to serve made a tremendous difference. This camp was truly a team effort, and we are grateful for everyone who helped make it such a successful and memorable experience.

As the excitement from camp carries into the new school year, Burn Sci Tech is also looking forward to launching our first official boys' high school soccer season. This fall, we will field a Boys JV team for students in grades 8-12, providing our student-athletes with an exciting opportunity to represent Burn Sci Tech in interscholastic competition. Camps like this one are helping build not only soccer skills but also a love for the game that we hope will continue as students progress through our athletic program.
