Burns Sci Tech Volleyball Athletes Take Their Game to the Next Level at the University of Florida

This summer, 12 student-athletes from last season’s JV and Varsity volleyball teams had an incredible opportunity to elevate their skills by attending a three-day, two-night volleyball camp at the University of Florida. Accompanied by our new Head Volleyball Coach, Coach T, and assistant coaches Kimmy and Ashley, our athletes immersed themselves in an unforgettable experience focused on skill development, teamwork, competition, and building the foundation for the upcoming season.
Hosted on the campus of one of the nation’s premier athletic and academic institutions, the University of Florida Volleyball Camp brought together talented athletes from across the region to train in a challenging yet encouraging environment.
The three-day experience provided our athletes with a true glimpse into the commitment and preparation required at the next level. Each day was filled with a balance of training, competition, team building, and learning. From the moment they arrived on campus, athletes were immersed in the full college volleyball experience, participating in team practices, receiving instruction from experienced coaches, watching demonstrations from University of Florida players, and competing in tournament-style matches against other teams.
In addition to time on the court, players attended team meetings, built connections with their teammates and coaches, and experienced life on a college campus through overnight accommodations and shared meals. The camp schedule challenged them physically and mentally while reinforcing the importance of preparation, communication, and teamwork.
One of the greatest benefits of attending this camp together was the opportunity to begin building chemistry with our new coaching staff before the season officially begins. Coach T, Coach Kimmy, and Coach Ashley were able to work closely with returning players, establish expectations, and begin developing the culture they hope to build within the Burns Sci Tech volleyball program. The relationships formed during this experience will help strengthen communication, trust, and teamwork as the athletes prepare for the upcoming season.
Experiences like the University of Florida Volleyball Camp are invaluable because they expose student-athletes to new coaching styles, advanced techniques, and a higher level of competition. Our athletes return not only with improved volleyball skills, but also with greater confidence, stronger leadership abilities, and a renewed excitement for the season ahead.
As Burns Sci Tech continues to grow its athletic programs, opportunities like this demonstrate our commitment to providing students with experiences that help them develop both as athletes and as young adults. These opportunities allow our students to challenge themselves, set higher goals, and see what is possible when they dedicate themselves to growth and improvement.
We are incredibly proud of these 12 student-athletes for representing Burns Sci Tech with dedication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. We look forward to seeing the lessons they gained at the University of Florida translate into success on the court this season.
