What an incredible day for our school and community; moving Day at the Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS)! This isn’t just a move; it’s the beginning of something extraordinary for our students at Burns.
The exhibits and resources gifted to us by MOAS represent years of creativity, effort, and community dedication. Instead of being discarded, these incredible pieces of learning and discovery are finding a new home at Burns, where they will continue to inspire young minds for years to come. For our students, this means hands-on, real-world experiences in science, art, and innovation, the kind of opportunities that spark curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
This transition has been made possible thanks to the extraordinary partnership of GE volunteer engineers, who stepped in with expertise, funding, and time. From carefully deconstructing exhibits to helping us plan every detail of the move, they have been nothing short of amazing. They even donated funds to cover moving expenses and will be back alongside our parent volunteers when it’s time to rebuild the exhibits at Burns. Their generosity ensures that our students will have access to engaging, interactive learning environments that might otherwise have been lost.
For our kids, this is about more than just having new exhibits on campus. It’s about being able to touch, see, and experience the subjects they’re learning about in class. It’s about sparking an interest in STEM careers, igniting creativity in the arts, and helping them see that education is alive, exciting, and connected to the world around them. This gift from MOAS is truly an investment in our students’ future.
We also want to give a heartfelt thank-you to Mr. Rush, whose dedication and leadership have made this move possible. And a very special recognition goes to Jim Kotas, the lead GE engineer who has been the driving force behind this entire project. His vision and commitment have been nothing short of inspiring.

At Burns, we believe that when meaningful, hands-on opportunities surround students, their learning goes deeper, their confidence grows, and their futures expand. Thanks to MOAS, GE, and our wonderful volunteers, this move is paving the way for exactly that.
This is more than moving exhibits. This is about building futures. And we can’t wait for our students to step into this next chapter of learning and discovery.
