Last Friday, our fourth-grade students enjoyed an exciting hands-on learning experience as Space Coast Gem Mining Company brought their mobile gem mine to our campus.

Students had the opportunity to sift through bags of dirt and uncover hidden treasures just like real-life miners. With enthusiasm and curiosity, they carefully searched for a variety of gemstones and artifacts, including quartz, jasper, amethyst, tiger’s eye, and even arrowheads. Each discovery brought smiles, excitement, and meaningful conversations.

This immersive experience allowed students to move beyond textbooks and learn through exploration. By touching, examining, and identifying their findings, students strengthened their observation skills, critical thinking abilities, and appreciation for Earth’s resources. Activities like this help bring classroom lessons to life and inspire students to stay curious and engaged.

Hands-on learning opportunities also encourage teamwork and confidence as students shared discoveries, compared their findings, and celebrated one another’s success. These moments create lasting memories and deepen their love for learning.

We are truly grateful to Space Coast Gem Mining Company for bringing their mobile mine and providing such a fun, interactive, and educational experience for our fourth graders. Their program offered students a unique look into the world of geology and exploration.

Thank you to Space Coast Gem Mining Company for visiting our campus and helping make learning exciting. We appreciate their partnership and look forward to welcoming them back in the future!
