We are incredibly honored and grateful to share that the City of Oak Hill has officially proclaimed January 29 as “Burns Science & Technology Charter School Day.” This special recognition was presented during our Aviation Day celebration and made official at this week’s City Council meeting, marking a meaningful milestone in our school’s history and celebrating the impact Burns has made in our community.
We extend our sincere grattitude to Mayor Ricky Taylor and the City Commissioners of Oak Hill for this thoughtful proclamation and their continued support. We are also deeply grateful to Dana Greatrex and the Community Trust, who have supported Burns since the beginning and have played a vital role in our growth and success.

The proclamation recognizes Burns as a tuition-free K–12 public charter school with ten consecutive “A” ratings and highlights our commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and hands-on, STEAM-focused learning. It also acknowledges our strong community partnerships and our dedication to civic engagement, leadership development, and student success.
Receiving this proclamation during our Aviation Day luncheon, with city leaders, staff, and community members in attendance, made the moment especially meaningful. Its official recognition at the City Council meeting reflects the strong foundation built through years of collaboration and commitment.

This honor represents the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, families, and supporters who make Burns a place where students feel known, supported, and inspired. It is a celebration of our past achievements and an encouragement as we continue to grow and serve our community.
We are proud to be part of the City of Oak Hill and grateful for the continued partnership of our city leaders and community supporters.
Thank you again to Mayor Ricky Taylor, the City Commissioners, Dana Greatrex, the Community Trust, and the City of Oak Hill for this incredible recognition.
We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact for many years to come.
