We are excited to introduce one of our new staff members, Coach GeNdreau, affectionately known around campus as “Coach G.” In just a short time, he has already made a big impact on our students both on and off the field.

Coach G is partnering with Grow Healthy Kids as he trains for the 2025 New York City Marathon on November 2. Grow Healthy Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children in need by providing footwear, fitness opportunities, and essential resources that help them thrive.

Coach G has set an ambitious goal to complete the 26.2-mile marathon in under 3 hours! The famous hills along the NYC route will be no match for his determination, focus, and drive to make a difference.

As part of his partnership, Coach G is also working to advocate for Burns students and families who need proper footwear. For many of our students, a new pair of shoes can make all the difference not only for sports and the walk to and from school, but also for their confidence, comfort, and overall health.

Thanks to his efforts, several of our students have already received new shoes, and their excitement is contagious! You can spot them around campus proudly showing off their new sneakers to friends and teachers alike.

But running marathons and giving back aren’t Coach G’s only talents; he’s also an avid unicyclist! Students love watching him ride across campus, and his energy and sense of fun make every day a little brighter at Burns. His enthusiasm for fitness and positivity is truly inspiring.

Coach G is still working toward his fundraising goal, with about $1,000 left to raise and only three weeks to go. Let’s come together as a community to help him reach the finish line, both in his training and in his mission to support our students.

In addition to his marathon efforts, Coach G is planning to host a Burns Soccer Camp this summer to help grow our athletics program and keep our students active, engaged, and healthy.

Welcome to Burns, Coach G, and thank you for making such a positive impact in such a short time. Your passion, creativity, and heart for helping others truly embody what it means to be an Eagle!
