Growing for the Future: Burns 4-H Celebrates Earth Day

Burns Sci-Tech was proud to celebrate Earth Day in a meaningful way this year as our Burns 4-H program, along with our 7–12 Agricultural Science students, distributed 440 laurel oak trees to Burns families.
These trees were provided free of charge through Neighborhood Forest, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring youth and families to connect with nature by planting trees.
Each year, Neighborhood Forest partners with schools across the country to give away trees, helping promote environmental stewardship, sustainability, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Thanks to this incredible partnership, hundreds of our students and families now have the opportunity to plant and care for their very own tree, creating a lasting impact not just for today but for generations to come.
In addition to the trees provided through Neighborhood Forest, we were able to distribute over 50 extra trees thanks to the generosity of our Burns families.
A special thank you goes out to the following families for their donations and support:
Meisheid, Appy, Calkins, Wright, Root, Harris, Rae, Qudsi-Perez, Navas-Vargas, Shaw-Fletcher, Gilbert, Tahlier, Awtry, Fischer, Sulle, Armitage, McCathran, O’Brian-Henz, Durner, Selzer, Opalenik, Roberts, Cooper, Land, Flood, Coyle, Jarrett, Merrick, and Hidalgo.

Because of this collective effort, even more families were able to participate and take part in this special Earth Day initiative.
Our 4-H members and Agricultural Science students played a key role in organizing and distributing the trees, showcasing leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to service. Events like this not only support environmental education but also help students develop real-world skills while giving back to their community.
At Burns Sci-Tech, we are proud to provide opportunities that connect students to hands-on learning and meaningful experiences. This Earth Day initiative is a perfect example of what can happen when education, community, and service come together.
We look forward to watching these trees grow right alongside our students.
