At Burns Sci-Tech, we know that curiosity, commitment, and courage can launch students into life-changing opportunities. This May, two of our brightest young scientists, Abigail Aldridge and Amanda King, took their dreams to new heights as they represented our school and community on an international stage.

From May 11–16, Abigail and Amanda traveled to Columbus, Ohio, where they competed in the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest pre-college STEM competition. With over 1,700 projects representing 66 countries, this prestigious event brought together the best and brightest young minds in science, technology, engineering, and math. To be invited to ISEF is not just an honor; it is the culmination of years of hard work, vision, and perseverance.

For Abigail and Amanda, attending ISEF wasn’t a surprise; it was a long-standing dream fueled by an unshakable love of science and discovery. They set their sights on this goal early, and through countless hours of research, planning, experimentation, revisions, and presentations, they proved that they have the drive and the brilliance to reach the highest levels of academic excellence.

Their project stood out not just for its scientific merit but for the creativity, complexity, and passion they brought to it. Their journey is a testament to what students can accomplish when they are supported by a school that nurtures innovation and a community that believes in their potential.

This is only the third time in Burns Sci-Tech history that a project has advanced to ISEF, a significant milestone that reminds us all of the incredible talent and potential in our student body. We are so proud of Abigail and Amanda not only for their achievement but for how they’ve carried themselves as scholars, role models, and ambassadors of our school’s values.

Their participation in ISEF is more than a personal success. It inspires their peers, showcases the power of STEM education at Burns, and reminds us of what is possible when students dare to dream big.

We know this is just the beginning. With their dedication, love for science, and unwavering drive, Abigail and Amanda are on a path toward even greater accomplishments in the future, whether it’s in research, medicine, engineering, or wherever their passions take them next.

Congratulations, Abigail and Amanda. You’ve made us all incredibly proud.
