Next week, Burns Sci-Tech proudly joins schools across the country in celebrating School Choice Week. This week is a meaningful reminder of why choice in education matters and why we are so grateful for the families who choose Burns Sci-Tech as their educational home. Being a school of choice is something we take great pride in, and we do not take lightly the trust families place in us.
One of the things that makes Burns Sci-Tech unique is the opportunity to watch students grow with us over time. We love seeing our students transition from elementary school to junior high and then into high school, developing not only academically but also socially, emotionally, and as leaders. Walking alongside our students from kindergarten all the way to graduation day is something we are incredibly proud of and deeply grateful to experience.
As part of School Choice Week, we will host an Academic Information Night for our current 6th through 11th-grade families. This evening is designed to be an informational opportunity where families can learn more about what lies ahead for their students. We will cover graduation requirements, Bright Futures, Dual Enrollment options, elective opportunities, and what students and families can expect as they plan for the future. Academic Night is about providing clarity, guidance, and confidence as students move through each stage of their academic journey.
This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as we mark 10 years of being an A-rated school. This achievement reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the ongoing support of our families. On Wednesday, January 28, we will celebrate this milestone with Decades Day, recognizing the growth, progress, and pride that have shaped Burns Sci-Tech over the past decade.
Thursday, January 29, will be a day our students look forward to all year. In the morning, we will host Aviation Day, featuring flyovers and helicopters landing on campus. Students will have the opportunity to meet pilots, ask questions, and get an up-close, hands-on look at the aircraft, bringing learning to life in an unforgettable way. That evening, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, our families and community members are invited back to campus for STEM Night. Guests will explore hands-on projects students have been working on, participate in interactive STEM activities, meet our staff, and experience what makes Burns Sci-Tech such a great fit for students. STEM Night is always a fun, engaging event for the whole family and a wonderful way to learn more about our school.

We will close out School Choice Week on Friday with Yellow Day. Students and staff are encouraged to wear yellow to show their support for School Choice Week and to celebrate the opportunity families have to choose the educational path that best fits their children. Yellow is the national color of School Choice Week and represents optimism, hope, and opportunity. It is a fun and visible way for our campus to come together in school pride while recognizing the importance of educational choice.
School Choice Week is about more than events. It is about celebrating our students, our families, and the journey we share together. We are honored to be part of that journey and look forward to a week filled with learning, pride, and community.
