Our fourth-grade teaching team is doing amazing work this year, creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. From math to social studies, their lessons are designed to help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
This week, students took their math lesson outdoors for a fun and interactive Rounding Maze Activity. This activity gave them the chance to practice rounding numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, or thousand while enjoying some fresh air and a change of scenery. Activities like this show how movement-based learning can make academic concepts stick. When students are up, moving, and actively engaging with the material, they are more motivated and retain what they’ve learned more effectively. It also helps strengthen communication and teamwork skills as they discuss strategies and check each other’s work.

In social studies, our fourth graders recently loved creating a 3D map of Florida, learning about its physical features, regions, and landmarks in a hands-on, interactive way. Projects like this not only reinforce geography concepts but also encourage spatial thinking, research skills, and creativity. They help students connect what they are learning in the classroom to the real world and make abstract concepts tangible.
Taking learning outside the classroom and incorporating interactive projects supports students’ overall well-being. Sunshine, physical activity, and collaborative work help re-energize minds, foster creativity, and remind students that learning can happen anywhere, not just at a desk.
We are so grateful to our entire fourth-grade teaching team for their creativity, dedication, and passion. They make math, social studies, and all subjects engaging, exciting, and meaningful. Our students are thriving thanks to your hard work and inspiration every day.
