Burns Sci-Tech High School Outperforms District and State in Academic Achievement

We are thrilled to share some exciting news from Burns Science and Technology High School: our students have not only made extraordinary academic strides this year, but they’ve also outperformed both the district and the state in nearly every tested subject area.

Here are just a few highlights from this year’s performance data:

• English Language Arts (ELA) Proficiency: Our students reached a 72% proficiency rate—20 percentage points higher than the district average of 52%.

• 

  Mathematics Proficiency: Math scores jumped to 72%, outpacing the district by a full 22 percentage points and showcasing major gains in problem-solving and critical thinking.

  

• Biology Proficiency: With a stunning 94% proficiency, our students continue to excel in science, demonstrating deep understanding and application of biological concepts.

• 

  U.S. History Proficiency: Our learners maintained a strong 88% proficiency rate, far surpassing both state and district averages and affirming the strength of our social studies curriculum.

• 

  High School Acceleration Points: An impressive 91% of our high school students earned acceleration points through AP coursework, dual enrollment, and industry certifications, highlighting our success in preparing students for college, careers, and beyond.
