Burns Bazaar a Huge Success

This past Saturday, the Burns Bazaar brought our community together for an incredible morning filled with creativity, innovation, and school spirit.
With 32 student vendors from grades K–8, the event was a true showcase of our students’ entrepreneurial talents. Guests explored a wide variety of student-created products, including homemade soaps and sugar scrubs, succulents, dog treats, 3D printed items, delicious baked goods, crochet creations, oysters, artwork, handmade jewelry, slime, decorated brushes and clips, and even refreshing homemade ice pops known as Power Pops. Each booth reflected the hard work, creativity, and dedication our students put into preparing for this special event.
We were thrilled to welcome over 200 attendees, whose support made the day even more meaningful for our students. Seeing our community come together in such a big way was truly special.
This was a cash-only event, designed to help our students build real-world money management and cash handling skills. To keep the fun going, we even had a “human ATM,” Ms. Pat, walking around the event to help families with change so they could continue supporting our student vendors and purchasing their fantastic items.
Adding even more excitement to the day, our FFA students made a last-minute appearance with goats and sheep, bringing smiles and joy to families and creating a memorable hands-on experience for everyone in attendance.

The Bazaar also featured a booth hosted by Burns alumni who provided medical screenings, highlighting the continued connection and support within our school community. The Empanada House food truck was a crowd favorite, serving up delicious options that kept attendees coming back for more. Families also had the opportunity to visit the book fair, which remained open throughout the event, giving everyone another chance to find their next great read.
One of the highlights of the day was the Mario Kart Tournament, hosted by our High School Game Design and Applications Instructor, Mr. Mrozewski (Mr. M), with the help of the event’s enthusiastic announcer, 4-year-old Carson Mrozewski. Ten students participated in the competition, bringing energy and friendly rivalry to the event.

We are incredibly proud of our students for the effort, creativity, and confidence they demonstrated throughout the event. Opportunities like the Burns Bazaar allow our students to develop real-world skills, and we look forward to even more students getting involved in the future to make this event even bigger and better.
We are also so grateful to the staff who helped plan, organize, and see this event through. Their dedication made this day possible and ensured its success.
Looking ahead, we are already excited to host another Burns Bazaar in November 2026. Stay tuned for more details. This will be the perfect opportunity to find unique, student-made gifts for the whole family just in time for the holiday season.
The Burns Bazaar was more than just an event; it was a celebration of student creativity, community support, and the spirit that makes our school so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success!
