E-Sports

​Esports serves as a dynamic gathering point for gamers of all skill levels, united by their passion for competitive gaming and digital camaraderie. Within this vibrant community, members engage in a wide array of video game tournaments, ranging from popular titles like League of Legends and Fortnite to niche favorites like Super Smash Bros and Rocket League. Beyond the thrill of competition, the club provides a platform for players to hone their skills, strategize with teammates, and forge lasting friendships in the virtual realm. Through regular practice sessions, scrimmages, and coaching opportunities, members refine their gameplay techniques and develop a deeper understanding of the esports ecosystem. As esports continues to rise in prominence, our club stands at the forefront, cultivating a vibrant community of gamers who share a common love for digital sports and esports culture.

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)

Step into a world of imagination and adventure with our Dungeons and Dragons Club! Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, this club offers the chance to create your own character, join a party of fellow adventurers, and embark on epic quests filled with mystery, magic, and danger. Every session is a collaborative story where your choices shape the outcome, making each adventure uniquely your own. It’s the perfect blend of strategy, creativity, and teamwork, offering an exciting escape into fantasy realms while forging friendships along the way!

Outdoors Club

Mr. Carignan is taking his passion for Scouting, Conservation, and the Outdoors, and is creating a space for students who share those same interests. This club will offer both classroom instruction and outdoor experiences, covering activities like fishing, archery, conservation, outdoor safety, and camping. With support from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) through a “School Fishing Club” grant, we’ll be able to provide hands-on learning that connects students to the great outdoors and helps develop the whole person—both academically and socially.

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the voice of the student body, representing their interests and concerns within the school community. Comprised of elected student leaders, the SGA works collaboratively with faculty and administration to address issues, plan events, and implement positive changes on campus. Through various initiatives such as organizing school spirit activities, fundraising for charitable causes, and advocating for student needs, the SGA fosters a sense of unity, pride, and engagement among students. By providing opportunities for leadership development and civic participation, the SGA empowers students to become active contributors to their school environment and advocates for positive change within their community.

Spanish Club

The Spanish Club is a vibrant community where students come together to explore the rich language, culture, and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. Through interactive activities, language practice sessions, and cultural events, members of the Spanish Club deepen their understanding and appreciation of the Spanish-speaking world. From celebrating traditional holidays and festivals to organizing language exchange opportunities, the club offers a dynamic space for students to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture. Through their involvement in the Spanish Club, students not only enhance their language skills but also develop cross-cultural competence and forge lasting friendships with fellow language enthusiasts.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

This year we are excited to bring Fellowship of Christian Athletes to the students here at Burns Sci Tech!  Students are welcome to attend our bi-monthly huddles where they hear encouraging words based on God's word and His promises, eat pizza, and fellowship with other Christians. FCA's goal is to Engage, Equip, and Empower coaches and athletes to grow in Christ and lead others to do the same. It is open to any 7th-12th grade students who wish to come. They do not need to be a Christian or an athlete. We meet twice a month, once for each middle and high school lunch period. We are grateful for our student officers who help plan and organize our huddles, and for Brian Melanson and Pastor Joel Kolbosh who deliver messages from God's Word to the students. 

Chess Club

From novices eager to learn the fundamentals to seasoned players honing their strategic prowess, the club offers a welcoming environment for everyone. Members engage in friendly matches and exchange insights and techniques to elevate their chess skills. With a supportive network of fellow players, the Chess Club provides an enriching and enjoyable experience for all who join its ranks. Whether you're seeking to improve your game, make new friends, or simply immerse yourself in the world of chess, the Chess Club is the perfect place to unleash your inner grandmaster and embark on an exciting journey of intellectual growth and camaraderie.

Music Club

The club is for students to learn or continue learning a musical instrument. No prior music experience is necessary, and beginners are more than welcome! They will work on their own music as well as play with others to prepare a concert at the end of the semester. Students are welcome to bring in their own instruments or use a school instrument. Instruments that can be provided include acoustic guitar, violin, saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, piano, drums, and ukulele. Depending on the instrument, students may be given the opportunity to borrow their instrument and take it home to practice.

National Honors Society (NHS)

​The National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious organization in the United States, dedicated to recognizing high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Founded in 1921, NHS chapters are present in schools across the country, fostering a commitment to academic achievement and community engagement among its members. Inductees are selected based on their academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, service to their community, and demonstration of integrity and leadership qualities. Being a member of NHS not only acknowledges a student’s accomplishments but also encourages them to continue making positive contributions to their school and community.
