Our Admissions Process

Step 1

COMPLETE A NEW STUDENT APPLICATION VIA LOTTEREASE.

Important: If you are applying for the upcoming school year, be sure to select the grade level your student will be in during that school year, not their current grade level.

Step 2

IF YOUR STUDENT IS ACCEPTED, YOU WILL RECEIVE A  NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE VIA EMAIL.  YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR INTENT TO ATTEND WITHIN THREE DAYS.

 

IF YOU ARE NOT ACCEPTED, YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR NEW WAITLIST POSITION.

Step 3

AFTER CONFIRMING YOUR INTENT TO ATTEND, YOU WILL RECIEVE YOUR REGISTRATION FORMS VIA EMAIL.

REGISTRATION FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO THE SCHOOL WITHIN SEVEN DAYS.

Step 4

ONCE REGISTRATION FORMS ARE RECEIVED BY THE SCHOOL, ALL INFORMATION WILL BE VERIFIED AND THE  STUDENT ENROLLMENT PROCESS WILL BEGIN.

Welcome:

Thank you so much for your interest in Burns Science and Technology Charter School.  Our school has grown rapidly in recent years, and we frequently have a waiting list for all grades.  When applications exceed the number of seats available for any given grade, to ensure an impartial admissions process, Burns Sci-Tech uilizes Lotterease, a software system that specializes in the student selection process for charter schools.

Please provide a current email address with your application. All families will receive updated communications about acceptance or wait  list position via the email provided during the application process.  


Admission & Wait List

If your student is admitted to Burns Sci-Tech for the upcoming school year, you must verify your intent to send your child to Burns Sci-Tech within three days.  If you do not respond or have made other educational plans for your child, the next child on the waitlist will be accepted. 

Preferences

In accordance with our Charter, Burns Sci-Tech gives preference* to the following: 

  1. Students who reside in Oak Hill, Florida. 

  2. Students with a parent or legal guardian who is a member of the Burns Sci Tech Board of Directors. 

  3. Students with a parent or legal guardian who is a full-time member of the Burns Sci-Tech administration, faculty, or staff. 

  4. Students who have a parent or legal guardian who serves on active duty in the U.S. military. 

  5. Students with a sibling** that currently attends Burns Sci-Tech. 

*All lottery preferences will be thoroughly verified. Any inaccurate information will result in removal from the lottery. 

**A sibling refers to a child who shares at least one biological parent, legal guardian, or household with another child already enrolled in the school at least 50% of the time. Sublings include: students who share one or both biological parents, students who have been legally adopted by the same parent or parents, students who become siblings as a result of their parents' marriage or partnership, students who share one biological parent, and students who are placed in the same foster family.
