This year marked the exciting launch of the Jr. Eagles Dance Team at Burns Sci Tech for students in grades K–6, and in just a short amount of time, this new program has already made an incredible impact on our students and school community.

Created to help elementary students build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and school spirit through dance, the Jr. Eagles program quickly became a place where students could grow both on and off the dance floor. Throughout the season, dancers learned the importance of dedication, determination, integrity, and discipline while developing new skills, friendships, and confidence along the way.

The team met twice a week to practice and explore different dance styles including jazz, age-appropriate hip-hop, pom, and prop routines. In addition to learning choreography and performance skills, students were encouraged to express themselves, support one another, and grow as leaders and teammates in a safe and positive environment.

Even though the program only began midway through the school year, the dancers wasted no time jumping into performances. The team proudly performed at a school pep rally and recently wrapped up the season with their end-of-the-year showcase last week.

And what a show it was. The energy, smiles, confidence, and hard work these dancers brought to the floor was absolutely incredible. Every routine reflected the dedication and effort these students put in throughout the season, and it was truly special watching all of their hard work come together on stage.

From the excitement and enthusiasm of our youngest dancers to the confidence and growth displayed throughout the performances, the entire show was a celebration of everything the Jr. Eagles Dance Team represents. Families, friends, and staff filled the room with cheers as students proudly showcased everything they had learned in such a short amount of time.

This first season was about much more than dance. It was about building confidence, creating opportunities, forming friendships, and helping students discover new passions and talents.

This show was truly one to remember, and these dancers should be incredibly proud of themselves and all they accomplished during the inaugural season of Jr. Eagles Dance.

We cannot wait to see this program continue to grow and inspire even more young dancers in the years ahead.
