At Burns Science and Technology, we love celebrating the passions and accomplishments of our staff both inside and outside the classroom. Recently, one of our own, Mrs. Virginia Lagana, our K–2 ESE Teacher, Gifted Teacher, and 4-H Club Leader, earned a unique and exciting honor: she was selected as a member of the ALDI Quarter Club, a program recognizing ALDI’s most enthusiastic and dedicated fans across the country.
This journey began earlier this year when Mrs. Lagana submitted a photo of her son, Everett, one of our Burns sixth graders, dressed in a creative ALDI employee costume alongside his guinea pig for last year’s fair. The entry caught the attention of ALDI’s marketing team, and out of 11,000 submissions, only 25 people were chosen. Mrs. Lagana was one of them!

Anyone who knows Mrs. Lagana knows her genuine love for ALDI. She’s known for wearing ALDI gear around campus, always with enthusiasm, always with a smile. Being selected for the Quarter Club was more than just a fun moment; it was an opportunity that connected her personal passion with a larger community experience.
As a Quarter Club member, Mrs. Lagana was invited to ALDI’s newly renovated headquarters, where she toured the campus, met company executives, and even visited the ALDI Test Kitchen to learn how new products are created and sampled. Quarter Club members also explored a mock ALDI store and enjoyed a special dinner right in the aisles, complete with behind-the-scenes demonstrations and upcoming product tastings.
What stood out to Mrs. Lagana the most was not the products or the exclusive experiences, but the people. She shared that the corporate environment felt surprisingly familiar, much like being at Burns. The ALDI staff she met truly loved what they do, supported one another, and believed in their mission. That sense of belonging, passion, and shared purpose reminded her of the culture we work hard to build every day here at Burns.
This unexpected connection opens the door to exciting possibilities, and we look forward to strengthening our new relationship with ALDI in the future. Opportunities like this remind us how unique partnerships can grow from shared values, creativity, and a little bit of fun.

We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Lagana for this well-deserved recognition. Her energy, dedication, and creativity enrich our school community, and now she’s part of a national community as well.
A heartfelt thank you to ALDI for giving Mrs. Lagana and our Burns family
such a meaningful and memorable experience. We are grateful for the hospitality, the inspiration, and the opportunity to connect with a company whose values resonate so closely with our own.
Congratulations, Mrs. Lagana, on becoming an official member of the ALDI Quarter Club!
