Great programs begin with great preparation, and that's exactly what Mr. Carignan and Coach Carignan have been doing this summer.
This week, Mr. Carignan and Coach Carignan volunteered at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) World Championships, one of the largest student archery competitions in the world. The event brings together thousands of student archers, coaches, and volunteers from across the country and around the globe to celebrate the sport of archery, sportsmanship, and student achievement.
While volunteering, the Carignans had the opportunity to observe successful programs, learn new coaching strategies, and gather ideas that can help strengthen Burns Science & Technology's archery program. Their goal was simple: bring back valuable knowledge and inspiration that will help create an outstanding experience for our students during the 2026-2027 school year.

We are excited to announce plans to offer both middle school and high school archery teams. Whether students are experienced archers or completely new to the sport, the program will provide opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, learn discipline, and participate in friendly competition.
One of the most exciting aspects of the program is that students will not be required to provide their own equipment. Burns will provide the necessary equipment, making archery accessible to students who are interested in trying a new sport without the financial burden of purchasing specialized gear.
Archery is more than just hitting a target. It teaches focus, patience, perseverance, self-discipline, and goal setting qualities that align closely with our school's commitment to developing the whole child. Students learn to manage pressure, track personal improvement, and build confidence through practice and achievement.
We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Carignan and Coach Carignan for dedicating their time to learning from some of the best archery programs in the nation. Their commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our students reflects the passion and dedication that make Burns Science & Technology such a special place.

More information regarding team participation, practices, and registration will be shared as we approach the start of the 2026-2027 school year. We look forward to watching our archery program take aim and grow!
Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to join the Burns Archery Team!
