A World of Wonder: Burns Sci-Tech Celebrates Avatar Homecoming

Last month, Burns Sci-Tech students stepped into another world as we celebrated Homecoming with an exciting Avatar theme! Hosted by our Student Government Association (SGA), the festivities brought creativity, school spirit, and plenty of excitement to campus. From the immersive theme to the incredible energy of our students, it was a memorable celebration for our Burns Sci-Tech community!
From a week of themed outfits to celebrating our Homecoming royalty, students had the opportunity to show their school pride, express their creativity, and make memories with their classmates.
A Week Full of School Spirit
The Homecoming excitement began with Spirit Week, giving students the chance to participate in a different themed dress-up day each day. From imaginative characters to heroic showdowns, everyone had an opportunity to join in the fun!

This year's Spirit Week themes included:
Character Day: Students brought their favorite characters to life with creative outfits and costumes.
Zoom Meeting Day: Students got playful with looks inspired by the world of virtual meetings.
Heroes vs. Villains: The campus became a battle between good and evil as students represented their favorite heroes and villains.
Crazy Blue and Green Day: Students showed their school spirit by wearing bold combinations of blue and green.
Each day brought something different to campus, creating opportunities for students to participate, connect with friends, and build excitement leading up to Homecoming.
Celebrating Our Homecoming Royalty

One of the highlights of Homecoming was recognizing the students selected by their classmates to represent their grades as Homecoming royalty.
Congratulations to our 11th Grade Homecoming Prince and Princess, Anthony Manuel and Neveah Humphreys!
We also celebrated our seniors and their royal representatives. Congratulations to our Senior Homecoming King and Queen, Antonio Bigus and Joslyn Kutasi!
These students were recognized by their peers during this special school tradition, and we are excited to celebrate this memorable moment with them.
Student Leadership Makes It Happen
Events like Homecoming take planning, creativity, and teamwork, and our Student Government Association helped bring this year's celebration to life.
Through Spirit Week and the Homecoming festivities, SGA created opportunities for students to come together, participate in school traditions, and make lasting memories. These experiences are an important part of building a connected school community where students can express themselves and celebrate what makes Burns special.
We are grateful to our SGA and everyone who helped make this year's Homecoming a success!
Creating Memories at Burns Sci Tech

From the Avatar-inspired theme to the spirited dress-up days and the excitement of crowning our Homecoming royalty, this year's celebration was a wonderful reminder that school is about more than what happens in the classroom.
It is also about friendships, shared experiences, school pride, and the memories we create together.
Congratulations again to Anthony Manuel, Neveah Humphreys, Antonio Bigus, and Joslyn Kutasi!
Thank you to our Student Government Association and the Burns family for helping make this year's Homecoming one to remember.
At Burns Sci Tech, our school spirit is out of this world!
