The Burns Way is how we learn, lead, and grow together at Burns Sci-Tech.

By combining our House System, the Leader in Me framework, and our core instructional practices, we create a school culture built on belonging, leadership, service, teamwork, and excellence.

Every elementary student belongs to a leadership House where they develop friendships, demonstrate character, celebrate success, and discover that every act of leadership, big or small, can make a positive difference.

YOU BELONG FROM DAY ONE

At Burns Sci-Tech, every elementary student belongs to one of four Houses: Sekhara, Oriana, Arataki, or Ravaka. Our Houses create a sense of belonging that begins in kindergarten and grows throughout elementary school.

BUILD CHARACTER TOGETHER

Students build friendships across grade levels while participating in service projects, school celebrations, leadership opportunities, and spirited competitions that reinforce character, teamwork, perseverance, and kindness.

WORK TOWARDS TEAM GOALS

Every point earned and every challenge completed contributes to House pride, but the greatest reward is learning to support one another and work toward a common goal.

ARATAKI

"Leading Through Service and Compassion"

The House of Arataki is built on leadership, kindness, and generosity. Members strive to make a difference by serving others, showing compassion, and leading with integrity. Arataki students understand that true leadership comes from lifting others up and creating a positive impact in their community.

ORIANA

"Turning Challenges into Opportunities"

The House of Oriana embodies resilience, strength, and unity. Its members lead by example, embracing change with courage and determination. Oriana students support one another, work collaboratively, and inspire their peers to grow through every challenge they face.

SEKHARA

"Inspiring Others to Reach Their Greatest Potential"

The House of Sekhara represents motivation, perseverance, and creativity. Members of Sekhara encourage others to work hard, overcome challenges, and never give up on their goals. Through teamwork and inspiration, they help create a positive environment where everyone is empowered to succeed.

RAVAKA

"Unlocking Endless Possibilities"

The House of Ravaka celebrates confidence, ambition, and fearless determination. Its members are encouraged to embrace their unique talents, pursue their passions, and believe in their limitless potential. Ravaka inspires students to dream big, take risks, and become the best version of themselves.
