Last week, we had the privilege of hosting our Volunteer Breakfast to celebrate the incredible individuals who give so much of their time, energy, and love to support our students and school community. It was truly a wonderful morning dedicated to recognizing the heart behind our success, our volunteers.
This year, we were fortunate to have nearly 100 volunteers serve our school in one way or another. Whether helping at events, making copies, supporting classrooms, assisting teachers, or stepping in wherever needed, every act of service made a difference.
As a choice school, we receive less funding than traditional district schools, but what makes our school special is our community’s willingness to step in and step up for our students throughout the entire K-12 community. The Burns family community continues to prove that when everyone works together, amazing things happen.
We were especially excited to recognize two outstanding volunteers:

🏆 Volunteer of the Year – Most Volunteer Hours: Darcia Bear
🏆Volunteer of the Year – Most Volunteer Events: Sydney Jenkins
Thank you both for your incredible dedication and commitment throughout the school year! Your willingness to serve has impacted countless students, staff members, and families.
As we look ahead to next year, we encourage everyone to continue logging volunteer hours through ParentAquare and invite even more families to join in. Many hands truly make light work, and every volunteer, no matter how big or small the task, helps create incredible opportunities for our students.

A huge thank you goes to Mr. Z for helping create the beautiful Eagles using our brand-new four-color 3D printers. Our volunteers loved seeing the creativity and innovation happening at our school. Thank you as well for demonstrating the amazing robot arm that drew selfie portraits for our volunteers. It was definitely a highlight of the morning!
Thank you to our House Council students for helping serve drinks and making sure our volunteers felt welcomed and appreciated throughout the event. Your leadership and servant hearts were on full display.
We also want to recognize our sweet kindergarten and first-grade students who hand-delivered cards to our volunteers. Those personal touches made the morning even more meaningful.

Most importantly, thank you to every single volunteer who gives their time to support our students and staff. We truly could not do this without you.
The hope is that each year this celebration continues to grow, maybe one day we will fill the entire cafeteria and even need to expand the space because we have so many amazing volunteers to celebrate!
Thank you for believing in our students, supporting our mission, and continuing to make Burns a special place for children to learn and grow.
Together, we soar higher.
