Burns Dance Team Makes Its Debut!
We are thrilled to celebrate the launch of a brand-new program at Burns this year: our Burns Dance Team!
Ms. Thomas, one of our high school English teachers, started the team and brought her lifelong passion for dance to our students. Ms. Thomas has spent much of her life dancing and continues to dance in her free time, making her the perfect person to inspire and lead this exciting new opportunity for our students.
When the dance class was announced for students in grades 7–12, it filled up immediately! It was clear from the start that our students were excited to learn, grow, and be part of something new. These students came ready to work, and in just a few short weeks of practice, they learned an impressive routine and were ready to take the stage.
Their first official performance came at our Homecoming Pep Rally, where the new dance squad made its debut in front of their classmates, teachers, and staff. For a team with only a few weeks of practice under their belts, they put on an incredible show! Their energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn were evident from the moment they stepped onto the floor.
We are so proud of these students for taking a chance on something new, putting in the work, and representing Burns with such confidence and school spirit.
We are incredibly excited to see this program grow in the years ahead. We know this is just the beginning, and we can't wait to watch our Burns Dance Team continue to develop their skills, build their confidence, and bring even more energy to future school events and performances.
