A Night to Remember: Celebrating Our Burns Volleyball Seniors!

Some nights are about more than the game. They are about celebrating the journey, honoring the memories, and recognizing the incredible young women who have left their mark on a program. Our Burns Volleyball Senior Night was one of those unforgettable evenings as we celebrated three amazing seniors: Julia Sulle #2, Lilliana Sanchez #9, and Ryleigh Drollinger #10!

From the moment families and supporters walked into the gym lobby, it was clear that this night was about celebrating more than volleyball. Three beautiful displays, thoughtfully created by the Sulle, Sanchez/Brady, and Drollinger families, showcased each athlete's journey, accomplishments, and love for the game. Each display offered a glimpse into the memories, milestones, and dedication that have shaped these young women throughout their volleyball careers.

As guests made their way into the gym, they were greeted by a beautiful balloon arch and walls covered in posters created by their fellow teammates, JV players, and Middle School athletes. These heartfelt tributes were a wonderful reminder of the impact these seniors have made throughout our volleyball program and the friendships they have built along the way.

A Walk to Remember

Just before the Varsity game, the gym was transformed into a special celebration worthy of our three incredible seniors. A blue carpet and velvet ropes created a memorable entrance as each athlete was individually announced and recognized for her contributions to the team, her journey as a volleyball player, and her goals for the future.

Adorned with crowns, sashes, and oversized beaded necklaces bearing their names, each senior walked to the center of the gym alongside her family. It was a beautiful moment to pause and recognize not only their accomplishments on the court but also the young women they have become.

The stands were packed with family members holding signs and pictures, proudly wearing shirts featuring their athletes, and cheering them on. Fellow students also filled the gym to support their friends as they took the court as Burns Eagles for one last time on their Senior Night.

The love and support surrounding these three young women were impossible to miss. It was a powerful reminder that while volleyball brings us together as a team, it is the relationships, friendships, and shared experiences that make being part of a program so meaningful.

A Senior Night Victory!

Of course, our Eagles still had a game to play!

Facing First Baptist Christian Academy, our Varsity team took the court ready to compete. Although the Eagles dropped the first set, they refused to let the momentum slip away. Digging deep, finding their rhythm, and fighting for every point, our girls rallied to win the next three sets, securing an exciting Senior Night victory!

There could be no more fitting way to celebrate our seniors. The determination, resilience, and teamwork displayed throughout the match reflected the same qualities that have helped shape this team throughout the season.

Celebrating the Journey and Looking Toward the Future

As we celebrate Julia, Lilliana, and Ryleigh, we recognize that their impact on Burns Volleyball extends far beyond the points scored, the matches won, and the seasons played. They have been part of a team, a community, and a program that will continue to grow long after their final match as Eagles.

Senior Night is always a bittersweet occasion. It is a chance to celebrate everything these athletes have accomplished while acknowledging that a special chapter is coming to a close. Watching these young women take the court one last time as Eagles filled our hearts with pride, gratitude, and excitement for everything that lies ahead.

To Julia Sulle #2, Lilliana Sanchez #9, and Ryleigh Drollinger #10: thank you for the memories, the dedication, the hard work, and the moments that have made your time at Burns so special. We are incredibly proud of you and cannot wait to see where your next chapter takes you.

Your volleyball journey may be turning a page, but the lessons you have learned, the friendships you have built, and the legacy you leave behind will remain part of the Burns Volleyball family.

Once an Eagle, always an Eagle!

Congratulations, seniors! Your futures are bright, your possibilities are endless, and we cannot wait to watch you soar to new heights.

Go Eagles!
